Welcome to the Dursley Glos Web, created as a local history guide to the town of Dursley in Gloucestershire, England in which I now live. It also contains information about the surrounding area and its close neighbours, Cam and Uley. The site has a slight emphasis on the town’s transport links and its industrial past but my intention is to make it of interest to anyone wanting to find out more about any aspect of the town’s history. The site contains a number of photographic collections showing the development of transport and industry in Dursley as well as extracts from old mapping dating back to the early 20th Century. Most of the website content relates to the past but information on current developments is added as they happen. There is also much information about the town’s streets , its public buildings , churches , schools and pubs as well as photographs of the town’s changing face during the large scale demolition in the s and s.
A brief history Chasing cheese in Cheese Rolling: Here’s what he found out. It is believed that the tradition could have been started by the Phoenicians, who inhabited South-Western parts of Britain before the Roman invasion of 54BC, by the Ancient Britons, or by the Romans themselves. It may, however, seem unlikely to many that a culture famed for fine clothing, dining and art could hold the origins of such an event.
Tradition The first written evidence of Cheese Rolling was found in a message to the Gloucester Town Crier in , though it is clear that the event was already an old tradition even at this date. Jean Jeffries, who has lived on the hill for 25 years, can trace the event back even further.

This website is dedicated to promoting Authentic Tantra practices and workshops, Tantra teachers and Tantra therapists. As Tantra is such a big subject and is mostly misunderstood it is better that the Subject of Tantra is promoted in a conscious and informative way to the world wide web. Off-course sex has to be included within this subject but at the heart of Tantra is energy, you could call it the energy of Love.
